I talk with Tom Bailey, Superintendent of the Washington Court House (OH) Schools, about a big and blue solution that his school district came up with as a way to meet three needs for students over the summer.

The need to feed every child, to provide enrichment, and to continue to build relationships.

It's called the Big Blue Bus. A bus has been converted to a food truck that runs on a set schedule and delivers food to students all over the district. But it's not that simple. There's more.

You can find out more on the district's Twitter account - @WCHSuper

Diane Egbers from Leadership Excelleration (LEI) and co-author of The Ascending Leader joins Carole Dorn-Bell on the podcast once again.

The Ohio Department of Education introduced a new five-year education plan that aims to put less emphasis on test scores while catering to each individual student. The new plan will shy away from the traditional academic measures that customarily measured students' success and focus on helping students succeed after graduating high school.

Diane offers tips you need now for developing your goals for this new strategic plan.

Organic time. What is that? So often we're conditioned that time is linear. That learning is linear. But it's not necessarily. And in today's podcast we talk with K-12 music teacher Bill Manchester. We came to know Bill from a TED Talk that he did on this very topic.

As you listen through, organic time is not just about learning...it's something we can integrate into our lives as almost a philosophy.

Bill has posted info for the summer workshop series on Twitter at @SimSumSTEAM, or you can just look up Simple Summer STEAM. More links to come on Instagram and Facebook soon.

Want to know all about how to do a school construction project? Not just to do one, but do it well?

That is what we're covering in this podcast. We talk with Matt Montgomery from the Revere Local Schools in Ohio. He's the superintendent there and he's overseeing a very large renovation and construction project.

And of course we talk through what to do. And what not to do. But he offers something that is very insightful in response to our question about lessons learned.

We think you'll find his answer incredibly insightful.
